4. What is Demand-Side Management: DSM ?
The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) has been promoting many energy saving campaigns. Their main purpose is Energy Conservation and in the optimizing of Energy Resources. EGAT has initiated a project called, “Together Conservation”, targeting and monitoring factories, producers and importers of electronic products, regarding quality and energy saving. Air con producers are especially effected because they have a Very high -volume usage of products for both the residential and Commercial sectors.
EGAT wants every air-con producer to participate in this Project and try to improve or develop their product. By earning The DSM product approval label, thus meeting Thai Industrial Standards Institute requirements, and Electrical and Electronics Institute ratings.
5. Proper Temperature Setting
It is best to determine the proper temperature for your own comfort. Average temperature ranges from, 24 – 25 Celsius. Above this temperature, 3 – 8% energy loss may be experienced. Temperatures can be set 2 – 4 Degrees Celsius to accommodate more people in an area. (Note: The automatic air con system will automatically adjust And monitor the temperature.)
6. Condensing Units and Beach Placement
One technique to employ is to place the Condensing Unit with the normal wind direction, not against the wind. Placing the unit against the wind prevents proper air condensing. Proper placement enables condensing as well as optimum usage and energy savings.
